Job Description

As an Endoscopy Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of ensuring effective and efficient operations within the endoscopy department. You’ll play a critical role in coordinating procedures, managing schedules, and serving as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members. Your expertise will help enhance patient care, where you facilitate smooth communications, and ensure compliance with all necessary protocols and regulations. Further, your responsibilities will include maintaining records and supplies, organizing staff training and development, ensuring the highest standards of patient confidentiality, and optimizing the patient experience from scheduling through to post-procedure follow-up. Candidates with superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are best suited for this dynamic role.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule patient endoscopy procedures efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage the endoscopy department’s calendar and staff assignments daily.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for endoscopy-related inquiries and communications.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health protocols, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and secure patient records and procedural documentation.
  • Facilitate communication and cooperation between patients, physicians, and nurses.
  • Oversee the inventory and procurement of endoscopy supplies and equipment.
  • Organize training sessions for staff regarding new procedures and compliance protocols.
  • Resolve any scheduling conflicts or issues that arise promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in the development of policies to improve efficiency and patient care quality.
  • Monitor patient flow and optimize scheduling to maximize departmental resources.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure procedural standards are adhered to consistently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a medical coordinator role.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare protocols.
  • Proficiency in using scheduling software and electronic medical records systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational and problem-solving skills.
