Job Overview

The Employee Relations (ER) Manager is responsible for leading and managing all employee relations matters across the UAE (1,250 employees), ensuring alignment with UAE Labor Law, organizational policies, and global frameworks including Code of Conduct, Human Rights, and DEIB commitments.

The role acts as a trusted advisor to business leaders, driving fair, consistent, and legally compliant ER practices while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment. It plays a key role in mitigating legal and reputational risks, enhancing employee experience, and supporting nationalization (Emiratization) in line with Local Talent Program.

Main Responsibilities

Labor Law & Compliance


  • Monitor and interpret UAE Labor Law developments and regulatory changes
  • Assess business impact and provide actionable recommendations
  • Ensure full compliance through policy updates, process alignment, and stakeholder communication


Employee Relations Case Management


  • Lead end-to-end management of ER cases including grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations
  • Ensure fair, unbiased, and timely resolution of complex and sensitive cases or cases linked to Human Rights categories
  • Maintain robust documentation for end-to-end process from case assignment to final decision with proper log of all steps including reporting, and case tracking standards in line with DHL Group guidelines


Investigations & Governance


  • Conduct or oversee workplace investigations in accordance with internal and legal requirements
  • Ensure procedural fairness and consistency across all cases


Policy Development & Implementation


  • Design, review, and implement ER policies and procedures aligned with UAE law and global standards
  • Ensure consistency in application across business units
  • Support change management initiatives from an ER perspective e.g (but not limited to) working terms and conditions, overtime, conflict of Interest declaration and related risk, data protection
  • Manage queries linked to sickness and fit to work, extended leave request or remote work, working conditions working hours and overtime in line with local company policy


Business Partnering


  • Act as a subject matter expert advising leadership on ER matters
  • Build capability of managers to handle employee issues effectively
  • Provide coaching on conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary processes


Employee Experience & Culture


  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and positive work environment
  • Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) programs


Performance Management Support


  • Ensure alignment of performance management actions with legal and organizational frameworks


Audit & Risk Management


  • Manage internal controls (e.g., CRISP) related to ER processes and Compliance related controls which fall within the HR Governance
  • Prepare for and support internal/external audits such as Global audits, Labor Inspections, Human Rights Audit


YOUR PROFILE


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Psychology, or related field
  • CIPD or SHRM-CP certification will be an advantage
  • Min 5-7 years of progressive HR Generalist or HRBP experience in a large organization in the UAE, with at least 3 years managing Employee Relations.
  • Proven experience in handling complex ER cases, investigations, and grievance processes
  • Arabic and English languages mandatory, Emirati nationality is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of the UAE Labor Law
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Proven experience in policy development and compliance
  • Proven experience in managing ER cases in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization, from frontline colleagues to Country/Regional Management
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
