Who You’ll Work With

You’ll join our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Divestitures practice, a global capability team supporting clients through transformative portfolio moves across the M&A lifecycle—from strategy and diligence to merger integration and divestitures. You’ll collaborate closely with regional affiliates, industry experts, product leaders, and country leads to shape and scale impact across Bain’s client base.

The EMEA M&A and Due Diligence Practice Senior Manager reports to the EMEA Regional Capability Leader, as well as the Corporate Due Diligence Global Solution leader. This person will work closely with EMEA and Corporate Due Diligence leadership, as well as the broader M&A and Divestiture global leadership team, product/region affiliated Partners and Manager and the global M&A practice team across regions, products, and levels. Team management responsibilities include the EMEA/DD Practice Manager and DD knowledge team.

The EMEA M&A and Due Diligence Practice Senior Manager role can be filled in any EMEA office.

What You’ll Do

The EMEA M&A and Due Diligence Practice Senior Manager will be a leader in driving commercial success in the EMEA region through high quality, high velocity discussions for client development and proposals in collaboration with regional leadership as well as leading the Corporate Due Diligence solution commercialization, innovation, and management

This position plays a critical role in growing and strengthening the EMEA M&A and Divestitures practice through proactive commercial support, team development, and execution of global and regional strategic initiatives. The role involves regular engagement of several stakeholders, including regional affiliates, industry interlocks, country leads, and product leaders to support the regional and client-specific agenda. Activities include proactive opportunity management, support of M&A discussions at priority accounts, and development of the M&A expert and talent base in EMEA.

This role also has responsibility for commercializing, managing, and developing Corporate Due Diligence solution. Commercial priorities include initiatives to introduce diligence to Bain’s priority clients and proactively managing opportunity pipeline to promote full scope and attach expertise, in collaboration with regional M&A and PEG leadership. The role also requires developing a deep understanding of client needs and support innovation in POV, analytical insights, digital tools and delivery model.

Essential Functions

  • Shape and execute EMEA M&A commercial strategy and operations.
    • Partner with EMEA Regional Practice Leader to set overall regional strategy to grow the M&A business at industry, country, and priority account level.
    • Manage commercial operations including proactive client development, key account management, opportunity management, and direct proposal support on select opportunities.
    • Match relevant content and expertise to opportunities
    • Build our brand in-region via prioritized forums/collateral/marketing.
    • Foster a community of engaged affiliates and experts.
  • Shape and execute Corporate Due Diligence commercial strategy and operations
    • Partner with Global Solution Leader to set strategy to grow Due Diligence business and convert DD to MI programs
    • Manage commercial operations including proactive client development, opportunity management, and direct proposal support on select opportunities.
    • Develop a deep understanding of client needs and product roadmap, lead innovation in POV, analytical insights, digital/AI tools and delivery model
    • Develop elements of specific IP, product offerings, and client discussion materials, including materials tailored to specific sectors/industries
  • Manage, inspire and coach EMEA / Due Diligence practice team
    • Support individual skill and career development for direct reports, including EMEA/DD Practice Manager
    • Act as team leader, facilitating team engagement and development.
    • Support trainings and informal mentorship across broader M&A practice team.
About You

  • 8-10 years professional services / [industry/capability] experience + undergrad
  • 6-7 years with MBA/Master’s
  • Bain consulting experience at the Senior Manager level
  • Experience or strong interest in the industry/capability of the Practice.
  • Strong performance (“strong impact/contribution” rating with an “upward” trajectory or higher)
  • Ability to independently tackle complex business problems while juggling competing priorities; can scope, plan, quality check and efficiently deliver exceptional work with insight-driven packaging and communications
  • Track record of deploying credible expertise on large domains with good results
  • Able to make unique thought contributions (not just an aggregator of others’ ideas) with an eye to commercial results
  • Can collaborate directly with senior stakeholders without an intermediary, and appropriately design and execute against a plan when additional support or actions are needed to reach alignment
  • Capable and inspiring people manager who can apprentice and develop through management (direct or indirect) of people and/or processes
