Embedded Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Allen Park, MI. The ideal candidate with strong expertise in portable, platform-agnostic Embedded C while scaling, refactoring, and integrating device driver software within agile, CI/CD-driven ECU development environments.

Rate Range: $42/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Embedded Software Engineer Job Responsibilities Include

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded software components for automotive Body Control Systems using Embedded C and Python.
• Analyze feature-level requirements and translate them into functional specifications and high-quality, production-ready device driver code.
• Scale, modify, and refactor existing software to meet new architecture and platform requirements while ensuring portability and performance.
• Collaborate with architecture, validation, and cross-functional teams to develop reusable software components, documentation, and integration guides.
• Perform software integration tasks, including build environment replication, source-level debugging, and deployment streamlining.
• Support CI/CD pipeline alignment and evaluate cloud-scalable test infrastructure for virtual and hardware ECU development.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development, preferably within automotive Body Control Systems.
• Strong proficiency in Embedded C with the ability to develop highly portable, platform-agnostic code for automotive ECUs.
• Demonstrated experience working in agile environments and contributing to CI/CD pipelines, ECU integration, and proof-of-concept development.

Pay Details: $42.00 to $45.00 per hour
