Job Description

As an ELV (Extra Low Voltage)/Fire Alarm Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems and other ELV systems. Your expertise in understanding and implementing safety standards and technologies is crucial to ensuring the safety and compliance of all installations and systems. You will work closely with engineers, safety officers, and other technicians to deliver effective and efficient solutions. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of fire alarm systems and ensuring quick responsiveness to any emergencies. A keen eye for detail and adherence to industry regulations are key to succeeding in this position.


Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with safety codes.
  • Perform routine inspections and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with both wired and wireless alarm systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and contractors on new installations and upgrades.
  • Provide training and guidance to users on system operations and safety protocols.
  • Prepare detailed reports of system operations and any necessary corrective actions.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of all pertinent safety codes and standards.
  • Ensure all systems comply with relevant laws and regulations in the industry.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and power outages.
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations of system efficiency and safety.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and equipment necessary for completing tasks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician in a similar role.
  • Relevant technical certification or diploma in electronics or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and ELV technologies.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in the fire safety sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills for documentation and team collaboration.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies.
