Job Description

An Electrical Foreman is a key supervisory position within the construction industry, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of electricians and ensuring that electrical projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The role involves planning, directing, and organizing electrical systems installation, maintenance, and repair at construction sites. An Electrical Foreman works closely with project managers, site managers, and other tradespeople to ensure that electrical systems comply with standards and regulations. A successful Electrical Foreman must possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the work of electricians and electrical helpers on site.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents accurately.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site managers, and other trades for workflow efficiency.
  • Develop project schedules and monitor progress against timelines and budgets.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure high standards of work are maintained.
  • Order and manage electrical supplies, materials, and equipment effectively.
  • Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings onsite.
  • Train and mentor new team members and apprentices in electrical tasks.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues that arise during projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and report to project managers.
  • Collaborate with inspectors for project inspections and implement any necessary changes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Foreman with a minimum of five years in a similar role.
  • Valid electrical license or certification according to local jurisdiction regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with various project stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.
