Electrical Engineer (MEP)

As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), you will play a crucial role in the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems within various building projects. Your role will involve working closely with architects, project managers, and other engineers to ensure that all electrical aspects of the project meet the necessary safety standards, efficiency goals, and client specifications. You will be responsible for creating electrical designs, assessing the feasibility of different designs, and overseeing the installation processes from inception to completion. You will also be expected to troubleshoot on-site issues, optimize power distribution networks, and ensure compliance with local and international building codes. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design plans and specifications for building projects.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
• Ensure all electrical systems comply with local and international building codes.
• Coordinate with construction teams to facilitate the accurate installation of electrical systems.
• Assess project feasibility by analyzing power distribution and load calculations.
• Prepare and oversee testing procedures for electrical installations and systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues that arise during construction phases.
• Optimize energy efficiency through sustainable and innovative electrical solutions.
• Maintain detailed records of all electrical designs, changes, and upgrades.
• Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams and clients.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure all electrical safety protocols are followed.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress and address any concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in electrical engineering within MEP projects.
• Proficient in using electrical design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and building standards.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving on-site electrical issues effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for efficient collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
