Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, you will play a critical role in the design, installation, and maintenance of various building systems. You will work on ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of electrical systems within large scale construction projects. This involves both the conceptual phase and the oversight of construction to make sure that the designs are implemented to the required standards. You will frequently collaborate with other engineering disciplines, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to integrate electrical systems with the overall project design and ensure all components work in harmony.


Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems that meet project goals and adhere to safety standards.
  • Conduct detailed electrical load calculations for building services and lighting systems.
  • Create electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications for new projects.
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to integrate MEP systems into overall designs.
  • Review and approve electrical drawings and documentation from external contractors.
  • Oversee installation processes to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Ensure all electrical installations adhere to local and national regulations and codes.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues related to electrical systems and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and timelines for electrical engineering aspects of projects.
  • Participate in regular site inspections to ensure timely project progress and safety.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, focusing on MEP projects.
  • Proven knowledge of electrical regulations, standards, and safety procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering software tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with project teams.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, but not mandatory.
