One-year Early Career Trainee Operations Program focused on operational aspects in a manufacturing and repair facility, with the possibility of extension up to two years. The Operations Trainee will support and progressively take ownership of inspection and repair activities within the Generator Rotor Cell at the Jebel Ali Service Centre (JASC). The role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to shop operations while developing a strong foundation in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture (SQDCC).
The trainee will work closely with experienced team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of generator rotor processes, while actively learning and applying Lean principles and continuous improvement practices. This program emphasizes skill development, mentorship, and gradual responsibility in a dynamic manufacturing and repair environment.
Job Description
What you’ll do:
Participate in and support Kaizen events within the Generator Rotor Cell, contributing ideas and actions to drive continuous improvement.
Assist in the implementation, upkeep, and sustainment of Daily Management Systems (DMS) within the generator cell to support operational visibility, accountability, and execution.
Support daily operations to help achieve operational excellence across SQDCC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Culture).
Assist with minor overhaul inspections of generator rotors, ensuring work is performed safely, accurately, and in alignment with established procedures and quality requirements.
Support rotor rewind processes by coordinating with operations, engineering, quality, and materials teams to enable efficient execution and adherence to repair requirements.
Work collaboratively with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Materials teams to identify, analyze, and help address bottlenecks affecting job execution, material flow, and cell performance.
Participate in structured problem-solving activities through daily management and Lean practices, contributing to waste reduction, process stabilization, and improved flow in the cell.
Support the development, documentation, and sustainment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), standard work, and operational process documentation for generator rotor activities.
Receive ongoing mentorship from experienced team members and actively engage in learning opportunities to build technical and operational capability.
Promote and support a safe working environment, consistently prioritizing personal and team safety.
Assist in evaluating and implementing new tools, technologies, or methodologies that enhance operational efficiency, quality, and accuracy in the generator rotor cell.
Actively participate in EHS Framework Elements and safety improvement projects within the service center.
Support compliance with quality work instructions and ensure alignment with engineering and repair instructions.
Support cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving workflow, reducing delays, and driving better process flow across the generator rotor cell.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical or another relevant technical discipline)
Fresh grads or up to 3 years of experience.
Foundational understanding of manufacturing, inspection, and repair processes gained through academic coursework, projects, or internships.
What Will Make You Stand Out
Exposure to generators, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial equipment processes through academics, projects, or internships is an advantage.
Academic, project-based, or internship exposure to Lean tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, and Daily Management Systems
