Role Overview:

Orbit International Survey Services LLC is looking for a qualified and experienced E&I Inspector with mandatory COMPEX certification to support electrical and instrumentation inspection activities across project sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that E&I installations comply with approved project specifications, applicable standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and verify Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) works in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable standards, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and inspection procedures.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of electrical, instrumentation, and telecom installations.
  • Inspect cable trays, cable routing, cable glands, terminations, and cable installations for power, control, and communication systems.
  • Witness and verify electrical testing, including HV cable testing, insulation resistance (Megger) testing, continuity testing, and torque testing.
  • Inspect and verify the installation of hazardous area electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with applicable hazardous-area requirements.
  • Verify equipment installation, identification, tagging, termination, grounding, and workmanship against approved drawings and specifications.
  • Review and verify inspection records, test results, certificates, and quality documentation.
  • Identify, record, and follow up on punch list items and ensure timely close-out.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, QA/QC teams, third-party inspectors, clients, vendors, and classification societies during inspection activities.
  • Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, checklists, and other required quality documentation.
  • Support Mechanical Completion, Pre-Commissioning, and Commissioning activities as required.
  • Ensure all inspection activities are carried out safely and in compliance with project HSE requirements.


Requirements

  • COMPEX Certification is mandatory.
  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with the same field.
  • Proven experience in E&I inspection / QA/QC within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Marine, Shipyard, or similar industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of E&I inspection methods, quality control procedures, applicable standards, and project documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and isometric drawings.
  • Experience with site quality control, Mechanical Completion, Pre-Commissioning, and Commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area equipment and Ex installations.
  • Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
