The Duty Manager provides leadership and operational oversight across the hotel, ensuring seamless daily operations and an exceptional guest experience at all times. Acting as a key ambassador of the hotel, the role supports all departments, manages guest concerns with professionalism and care, and ensures safety, security, and service excellence throughout each shift. - Provide refined leadership and operational oversight of daily hotel operations, ensuring seamless delivery of Forbes Five-Star service standards across all guest touchpoints.
- Act as a primary point of contact for guests, with particular focus on VIPs, ensuring needs are anticipated and exceeded with discretion, professionalism, and grace.
- Oversee and coordinate operations across all departments to ensure smooth, efficient, and consistent hotel performance.
- Represent Senior Leadership during assigned shifts, assuming full responsibility for hotel operations, decision-making, and guest experience.
- Conduct regular property walks to monitor cleanliness, safety, security, and overall presentation of the hotel.
- Supervise and verify operational and financial procedures, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of reporting.
- Prepare shift and operational reports, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, ensuring correct balances and strict adherence to financial controls.
- Optimize room revenue through effective inventory management, strategic upselling, and promotion of the hotel’s services and facilities.
- Ensure full compliance with credit, cash handling, and financial policies, including foreign currency and credit card transactions, maintaining accuracy and security at all times.
- Confidently manage, document, and resolve guest concerns, incidents, or emergencies, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to the guest experience.
- Lead and execute all safety, security, and emergency procedures with professionalism, safeguarding guests, colleagues, and hotel assets.
- Maintain expert knowledge of hotel services, amenities, policies, and the local area to deliver personalized and insightful guest recommendations.
- Deliver thorough, professional handovers to incoming Duty Managers and department leaders to ensure continuity of service and operational excellence.
- Support the training, coaching, and development of team members, fostering a culture of accountability, empowerment, and service excellence.
- Uphold all brand standards when utilizing front-of-house systems, technology platforms, and guest records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Conduct detailed health, safety, and property inspections to maintain a pristine, secure, and well-maintained environment.
- Collaborate closely with all departments to promote teamwork, consistency of service, and operational alignment.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Previous role as Duty Manager in a luxury hotel
- A degree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent
- An in-depth knowledge of the hotel, leisure or service sector
