Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Fire Protection System Draughtsman to prepare detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for fire protection systems in compliance with project specifications, applicable NFPA standards, and UAE Civil Defence requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare fire protection shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings for sprinkler, fire hose reel, hydrant, wet riser, standpipe, and fire pump systems.
• Develop detailed layouts, sections, schematics, riser diagrams, and equipment installation details.
• Prepare drawings based on approved design drawings, project specifications, and site requirements.
• Coordinate fire protection drawings with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other services drawings.
• Incorporate consultant comments, site modifications, and authority requirements into drawings.
• Prepare material take-off (MTO) and quantity schedules as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable NFPA standards, UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, and relevant Civil Defence requirements.
• Assist the engineering team in preparing drawings for consultant approval and Civil Defence submissions.
• Maintain proper documentation, drawing revisions, and submission records.
• Coordinate with engineers, site supervisors, and project teams to resolve drawing-related issues.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in fire protection system drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office
• Good knowledge of fire protection systems, piping layouts, and equipment installation details.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards, UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, and Civil Defence submission requirements.
• Experience preparing shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
• UAE project experience is preferred.

• Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
• Good understanding of fire protection system components and symbols.
• Ability to interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Good coordination, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  
  

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with hands-on experience in UAE fire protection projects and familiarity with Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) drawing submission requirements will be preferred.
