What You'll Do

You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

• You will be responsible for creating an exceptional first and last impression for everyone visiting AVA at Palm Jumeirah, welcoming residents, their families, and guests with warmth, professionalism, and courtesy, ensuring every arrival and departure reflects the distinguished standards of Dorchester Collection.
• You’ll also work in close partnership with the Lobby Host and Concierge teams to ensure all resident and guest requests are met seamlessly, supporting luggage delivery and collection when required and maintaining open communication to ensure alignment and consistency across all guest touchpoints.
• Our values of Passion, Personality, Respect, Working Together, and Creativity guide us each day. As a Doorman, you’ll have the opportunity to bring these values to life, embodying the Dorchester Collection “We Care” philosophy while delivering attentive, genuine, and highly personalized service.
• This role is highly visible and physically engaging, requiring you to remain present, attentive, and well‑presented throughout the shift, including standing and walking for extended periods and working outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• You will provide a consistent welcome, assist colleagues to ensure smooth arrivals and departures, and maintain focus and energy while supporting a seamless resident experience.

What You'll Bring

• You’ll bring your friendly personality, polished appearance, and genuine passion for luxury service to the role and the Residences team.
• You have a talent for creating welcoming environments, delivering consistent and thoughtful service, multitasking confidently in a dynamic operational setting, and maintaining composure under pressure.
• You bring 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role or customer‑facing position within a luxury hotel or residential environment.
• Communication is what keeps our teams connected. You have excellent verbal communication skills, engage confidently with residents and visitors, and work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to achieve common goals.
• You are detail‑oriented, dependable, and professional, able to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting the wider team. You take pride in your appearance, respect confidentiality, and consistently represent the Dorchester Collection brand with integrity, warmth, and confidence.
• English is the primary language used at AVA. You can comfortably communicate in this language. Additional languages are an advantage.
