At Taaleem, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective practices in relation to child protection, and we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We expect all staff to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to various background checks including receipt of references, proof of relevant qualifications, identification, and police checks, including overseas checks.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the multi-award-winning, Outstanding team at Dubai British School Jumeirah Park, one of Dubai’s leading British international schools, as our Director of Inclusion.
We are recognised as one of the top 10 schools in the world for community, and we are incredibly proud of the culture we have built; one where belonging is real, relationships matter, and every member of our community is valued. Our school is defined by connection, care, and a deep sense of purpose.
We are also a proudly, deeply inclusive school, and inclusion here is not an aspiration - it is our lived reality. As the first school in the UAE to be awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM), and recognised as Outstanding for Inclusion by both KHDA and BSO, our commitment is both proven and uncompromising. Inclusion at DBSJP is not an initiative or a label; it is embedded in everything we do. Every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive. We do not pay lip service to inclusion - we live it, every day, in every interaction, for every child.
We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Director of Inclusion. Someone who combines deep expertise with the moral purpose, strategic thinking, and credibility to lead and further develop our outstanding provision. This is a role for a leader who can inspire belief in inclusive practice at every level, challenge thinking where necessary, and ensure that all students, regardless of need, are empowered to succeed and thrive.
At DBSJP, innovation, collaboration, and professional ambition define our approach. Guided by our vision of “Enjoy, Aspire, Achieve,” you will lead a highly skilled and committed team within a state-of-the-art, award-winning school, shaping and driving inclusion at the highest level while contributing to a culture of excellence, wellbeing, and belonging.
Requirements
• A relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent).
• Significant leadership experience in inclusion within a high-performing school, with a demonstrable track record of impact.
• Deep expertise across SEND, EAL, and inclusive practice, with the ability to translate this into outstanding whole-school provision.
• A values-driven leader with the credibility and presence to inspire, influence, and challenge at all levels.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and sustain a whole-school inclusive strategy that drives exceptional outcomes for all learners.
• Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience in building capacity and empowering others.
• An unwavering belief that all children can succeed, with the right support and high expectations.
• A relentless focus on removing barriers to learning and ensuring equity of access, participation, and achievement.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with students, staff, and families.
• A reflective, resilient, and solutions-focused approach, thriving in a fast-paced, international, and high-expectation environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and holistic development.
• A willingness to contribute fully to the wider life of the school and ongoing whole-school improvement.
• A commitment to continuous professional growth and leading high-quality CPD in inclusive practice.
