Job Description

Youve shaped a compelling academic vision and taken full accountability for its delivery. Youve led with visibility and conviction, not from the sidelines. When it comes to the science of learning, youre not an observer. Youve created something tangible, produced results that validate the approach, and gained the credibility to share that story publicly. If this describes you, 2 Hour Learning is seeking its chief academic architect.

At 2 Hour Learning, weve developed a system that enables students to learn at twice the speed in only two hours per day. AI-driven tutoring, mastery-oriented progression, and a fundamental reimagining of traditional classroom design power these results. The outcomes speak for themselves. We now need a leader who can align execution across a range of school environments, elevate the standard of academic leadership, and serve as the public advocate for a movement built on evidence-based learning science.

This is not a position for academic abstraction. Its a directive for leadership. Youll assume ownership of the academic strategy in action, establish rigorous standards, surface gaps in execution, and guide high-performing teams toward measurable results. Youll convert our scientific principles into operational excellence and champion this model on a global stage.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Designing academic frameworks that bridge learning science and practical application across curriculum design, motivational systems, and app development.
  • Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams are aligned, held accountable, and producing outcomes.
  • Integrating data, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive ecosystem assessments that identify the most critical barriers to accelerated learning and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Ensuring strategic coherence through planning processes, feedback mechanisms, and milestone oversight to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
  • Serving as the external ambassador for 2 Hour Learning at senior levels, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, advancing systemic transformation in global educational paradigms.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Working on disconnected curriculum initiatives that fail to generate systemic impact.
  • Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or implementation.
  • Transferring accountability for performance to mid-level managers or external consultants.
  • Depending on institutional reputation or untested theory to convince critical audiences.

Director Of Academics Key Responsibilities

Expand and refine 2 Hour Learnings validated academic model by harmonizing execution across school sites, raising leadership standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative voice of a movement rooted in rigorous science and demonstrable outcomes.

Basic Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
  • Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
  • Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
  • Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
  • Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting
