Job Description

Youve shaped an ambitious academic strategy in the past and taken full ownership of its execution. Youve guided from the forefront, not from the periphery. When it comes to the science of learning, youre not experimenting—youve created something tangible, produced evidence of its effectiveness, and demonstrated the authority to present it publicly. If this describes your track record, 2 Hour Learning seeks a leader to serve as its academic compass.

At 2 Hour Learning, we operate a system in which students achieve learning at twice the pace in only two hours per day. AI-powered tutoring, mastery-oriented progression, and a fundamental shift away from traditional classroom formats underpin these results. The outcomes speak for themselves. We now seek a leader capable of harmonizing execution across varied school environments, elevating academic leadership standards, and serving as the authoritative voice of a movement anchored in evidence-based learning science.

This position is not about academic abstraction. It is a leadership imperative. You will take direct accountability for academic strategy in action, establish rigorous benchmarks, diagnose execution shortfalls, and develop elite teams to produce measurable outcomes. Youll convert our scientific underpinnings into operational rigor and advocate for this approach on a global stage.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum development, motivation architecture, and application design.
  • Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to confirm that school teams remain synchronized, responsible, and outcome-driven.
  • Integrating insights from data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that pinpoint the most critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
  • Ensuring strategic coherence through structured planning, feedback mechanisms, and progress monitoring to sustain concentration on student learning objectives.
  • Serving as the primary representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile contexts—from keynote presentations to consultations with Ministries of Education—to influence global perspectives on educational systems.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Engaging in isolated curriculum initiatives that fail to produce systemic impact.
  • Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or operational implementation.
  • Transferring accountability for performance standards to mid-level managers or external consultants.
  • Depending on institutional prestige or conceptual frameworks to convince doubtful stakeholders.

Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities

Expand and refine 2 Hour Learnings validated academic model by coordinating execution across multiple schools, raising leadership benchmarks, and establishing yourself as the authoritative voice of a movement built on rigorous science and demonstrable results.

Basic Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
  • Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
  • Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
  • Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
  • Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting
