Director – Group Business Controls | Holding | Finance

Role Summary

Provide enterprise-wide second-line stewardship of internal controls. Own the COSO-aligned control framework, champion “tone at the top,” and deliver independent assurance to Senior Management and the Audit & Risk Committee that operational, reporting and compliance objectives are protected.

ROLE PROFILE

• Framework & Governance – Issue and annually refresh the Group Internal Control Manual; chair the quarterly Internal Controls Governance Committee.
• Governance of Group Reporting & Consolidation - Set the control framework, enforce policies, and perform reviews over monthly, quarterly, and annual Group consolidations—ensuring IFRS compliance, data integrity, and timely delivery.
• Control Ownership of the Reporting System - Act as owner of the Group’s consolidation and reporting platform — overseeing the structure, change-management, data-quality checks, and periodic control testing to keep the system audit-ready and resilient.
• Risk Alignment & Design – Align with ERM on top risks; direct domain leads in designing proportionate preventive / detective controls and RCMs.
• Implementation Oversight – Approve new controls (finance, IT, ops, compliance); ensure SoD, access, reconciliation and regulatory checks are executed group-wide.
• Information & Reporting – Operate GRC dashboard; escalate significant issues to CFO & ARC with action plans.
• Monitoring & Remediation – Drive annual management testing; track deficiencies to closure, preventing repeat findings.
• Combined Assurance – Align scope and timing with Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk & ESG to eliminate gaps/overlaps.
  
  

• Minimum 12+ years in Big 4, Finance in large organization, of which at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ ACCA/ CPA/ ICAEW).
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and drive organizational change.
• Deep knowledge of COSO, ICFR and combined assurance.
• Analytical mindset with grasp of data / automation tools.
• Experience of building high performing teams.
