Director of Field Medical – International Markets
Radiometer | Medical Affairs | Middle East, Africa, India & Southeast Asia
The Director of Field Medical – International Markets will lead, shape, and execute Radiometer’s regional Medical Affairs (MA) strategy across the Middle East, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. This strategy will be tightly aligned with the Global Medical Affairs direction while integrating seamlessly with regional and country marketing plans. The role ensures a balanced, compliant, and scientifically robust execution of clinical, medical, and scientific activities that support the appropriate use of Radiometer’s portfolio in these diverse markets. A strong understanding of regional market access dynamics is essential.
Leveraging deep medical training, scientific knowledge, and clinical expertise, the Director will serve as a key member of the Global RMED Medical Affairs team, contributing to strategic planning for product launches, commercialization activities, and evidence-generation efforts. Responsibilities include developing regional medical plans, supporting customer education, identifying investigational research sites, and acting as a core scientific resource for Commercial & Medical Affairs teams. The role also oversees interactions with Key External Experts (KEEs) and manages local off-label information requests with strict compliance.
A central focus of this position is enabling the clinical adoption and optimized utilization of Radiometer’s Blood Gas and Immunoassay portfolio across both POCT environments and central laboratory settings. The Director will partner closely with healthcare professionals, providing expert guidance on clinical decision-making, patient workflow optimization, and the integration of Radiometer diagnostic technologies into critical care pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Expertise & Communication
Build and maintain robust expertise in Blood Gas and Immunoassay technologies, their clinical applications, and their relevance in ER and ICU diagnostic workflows.
Translate complex clinical data into clear, evidence-based value messages for healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
Deliver high-quality educational programs, scientific presentations, and product-related training.
Ensure timely, effective communication with internal partners including Medical Advisors, Medical Information, Marketing, and Sales.
Execute regional scientific communication plans aligned with global medical strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement
Establish and sustain strong partnerships with KOLs, clinical investigators, and key decision makers.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify unmet clinical needs and align them with Radiometer’s technological capabilities.
Insights & Strategic Contribution
Capture and synthesize field insights to inform product development, evidence strategies, and organizational decision-making.
Serve as a key interface between the medical community and internal teams, guiding Radiometer’s Clinical Decision Support initiatives.
Contribute to associate training content and internal capability-building.
Understand the competitive landscape, clinical influencers, biomarkers, and diagnostic pathways relevant to Radiometer’s portfolio.
Take a leading role in shaping patient-care journeys and hospital workflows.
Monitor market drivers, including reimbursement trends, policy changes, and evolving clinical guidelines.
Compliance & Representation
Represent Radiometer at regional medical congresses, advisory boards, and scientific events.
Support planning and execution of symposia and advisory sessions with healthcare professionals.
Uphold all regulatory, ethical, and compliance standards in every engagement.
Contribute to CRM and ensure high-quality documentation of medical interactions.
Respond to unsolicited medical information requests promptly and accurately.
Support Global Medical Affairs in preparing written responses for off-label topics as required.
Qualifications
Formal Education
Advanced degree in Life Sciences or healthcare-related field.
Essential Competencies / Experience
Minimum 10 years in the biomedical or IVD industry, with strong experience in Medical Affairs or Market Access.
Deep understanding of IVD and medical device regulations in international markets.
Strong knowledge of critical care, emergency medicine, POCT environments, and clinical laboratory workflows.
Proven ability to communicate complex clinical information effectively to both expert and non-expert audiences.
Language Skills
Excellent written and spoken English.
Proficiency in Arabic or Hindi is a strong advantage.
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel up to 50% across the region.
Key Relationships
Internal: Global & Regional Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Medical Information, Commercial teams.
External: Key External Experts, Healthcare Providers, Professional Associations, Regulatory Agencies.
Work Arrangement
Remote role based in Riyadh, Dubai, or Kuala Lumpur.
Other locations may be considered based on experience and fit.
Success Metrics
Number and quality of trainings, webinars, congress contributions, and educational events.
Evidence-generation and IIS projects supported or led.
Depth and impact of KEE engagement and field insights.
