Job Summary
Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a proactive and strategic Digital Channels Lead to drive the deployment and commercialisation of digital capabilities across Transaction Banking in Africa and the Middle East. This role is pivotal to advancing our digital agenda across Cash, Trade, Financial Markets, and related Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) segments
You will spearhead the delivery and adoption of platforms such as Straight2Bank, Standard Chartered (SC) PrismFX, Application Programming Interface (API) banking, and digital onboarding tools—aligning with both strategic and regulatory priorities. The position requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of client-centric digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Keeping the lights on (KTLO)
- Oversee deployment of digital platforms including Straight2Bank (Host-to-Host, Web, Mobile, Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT)), Application Programming Interface (API) solutions, Standard Chartered (SC) PrismFX, and Straight2Bank Pay.
- Ensure effective localisation, implementation, and user testing of new capabilities across client segments (Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), Financial Institutions, Financial Markets).
- Translate market and regulatory requirements into digital solutions, working closely with product and technology teams
Commercialization (across all products, client segments)
- Drive market adoption of digital solutions through frontline training, client engagement, and internal awareness campaigns.
- Represent the bank in Requests For Proposals (RFPs), client meetings, and industry events—demonstrating Standard Chartered Bank’s (SCB’s) digital leadership.
- Support digital initiatives including usage optimisation (e.g., e-ratio), dormancy reduction, and competitor benchmarking.
Strategic Projects & alignment to strategic Transaction Banking (TB) priorities
- Lead digital efforts for regional and group-level strategic projects, such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) migration, cybersecurity enhancements, and blockchain use cases.
- Collaborate on Paytech integration and co-creation with clients in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital assets
Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Act as country owner for channel governance documentation, ensuring full compliance with group and local regulatory requirements.
- Proactively address audit findings and mitigate digital channel risks in collaboration with Legal, Compliance, and Technology.
- Maintain awareness of evolving regulations (e.g., data sovereignty, open banking) and align platform readiness accordingly

Internal: Transaction Banking (TB) Sales, Product, Client Services, Legal & Compliance, Marketing, Digital Channels & Platforms Teams, Technology, Operations
External: Corporate Clients, Regulators (as required), Vendors & Industry Partners
Qualifications And Experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or Business Administration (Finance major preferred)
- Strong knowledge of transaction banking digital platforms, regulatory frameworks, and channel architecture
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English (Arabic is an added advantage)
