The job:

The Director, Commercial (Middle East) creates the strategic direction for Thermo Fisher’s Life Sciences business, ensuring a focus on people and partner selection, performance management, growth, continuous improvement and compliance with standardized practices.

This role drives the local direct sales team and sets forth the channel and direct business strategy and business model for the Middle East region. You will be accountable for delivering agreed sales and financial targets, leveraging the Life Sciences matrix organization and Thermo Fisher corporate team to support and drive the business.

You will have responsibility for driving the sales across our Life Sciences divisions (BID, GSD and CSD), whilst supporting sales activities through workflow selling for Life Sciences and the broader Thermo Fisher organization.

In addition, this role has a secondary responsibility to deliver sales revenue at a country level through influence, support and direct involvement with multiple EMEA Life Sciences business, e.g. HID, Reproductive health, HPG, Agribusiness, and GSS.

This role is fully remote (working from home), based anywhere in Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates. Regular international travel will be required – up to 50%, including overnight stays.

What will you do?

• Direct and manage the local sales district managers, specialists and channel managers.
• Build and develop highly motivated and powerful teams.
• Develop and implement strategies for the customers and channel partners to drive market share growth and customer value.
• Ensure best teamwork cross-functional practices to support channel partners and end-users.
• Utilize strong cultural awareness to build successful relationships.
• Engages resource from across the organisation to support growth in the region
• Lead, mentor, coach and drive engagement in the commercial teams (own and distributors’).
• Implement and monitor effective performance management of channel partners, including compliance with financial & regulatory management practices.
• Address and resolve channel partner issues.
• Drive actions and solutions to completion
• Manage relationships with customers, distributors and global partners
• Implement PPI and digital tools (AI) to drive efficiency in the sales team.
  
  

Who we are looking for:

• Extensive experience in Commercial/Sales leadership roles, specifically within the Life Science or Clinical Diagnostics industries.
• Experience managing managers, as well as individual contributors.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to influence across multiple cultures, regions, and functions, and operate at all levels in the business
• Must have the presence, visibility and personality to quickly establish credibility with customers, channel partners, industry Key Opinion Leaders and related authorities.
• Must be highly collaborative and engaging, a strong relationship builder and comfortable in highly matrixed and complex environments.
• Must be self-confident and possess the right balance of both strategic and tactical thinking.
• Drives employee engagement as a manager, coach, mentor and thought leader
• Excellent influencing, communication, leadership & presentation skills
• Ability to establish short & long-term business objectives.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of working time based on need.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic and/or Urdu an advantage.
