Business Control Director has the overall responsibility for Volvo Trucks Finance and Business Controlling activities in Market Middle East & Türkiye (MET), which is part of Sales Area Volvo Trucks International (VTI).

The purpose of the role is to lead the Business Control planning process and activities in Middle East and Turkiye (MET), ensuring they are properly conducted and that a sound commercial risk management strategy exists. You will also have a vital role in MET’s profitability.

The position will report to the Managing Director Middle East & Turkiye, and be part of the MET management team, in close contact with VP Business Control at the Sales Area level. As VT is the largest business unit in the Dubai office, will the position work as the Volvo Group Middle East Joint company Financial Manager in Dubai and be a part of the VG Country Management Team.

The person will ensure effective leadership, coordination and general direction to reflect and promote the company’s mission, vision, aspirations and values, strong stakeholder management, initiative, and advanced problem-solving capabilities.

Purpose of the Role

  • Lead the Business Control planning processes and activities across Volvo Trucks MET.
  • Ensure robust financial planning, forecasting, and commercial risk management strategies, as well as management and participation in different projects.
  • Follow up of short- and long-term targets and objectives
  • Drive financial strategy execution and support overall business profitability.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare business review meeting (BRM) presentations, Execution Plans and executive management material, ad hoc reports for the MD or VTI management
  • Provide leadership aligned with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Active compliance control towards business functions as well as staff functions, hereunder; Export control and sanctions, Data Privacy, Anti-corruption and Fair competition.
  • Drive, support and follow up activities linked to capital efficiency, optimal local & consolidated top-/bottom- line.
  • In the CMT as JC Financial Manager oversee the Volvo Groups investments, IT infrastructure coordination, general cost control, bank connections and accounting, together with the FCA director under a 4 eyes principle. Secure we take data-based decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Performance Management

  • Lead and manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Monitor short- and long-term financial targets and performance.
  • Produce accurate market financials (actuals, forecasts, estimates, business plans).
  • Oversee regional cash flow management and financial health.

Business Control & Strategy Execution

  • Translate sales area strategies into actionable financial and operational plans tailored to local markets.
  • Develop tools, action plans, and KPIs to drive profitability and efficiency.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on financial performance.
  • Support development of new business strategies, segments, and market initiatives.

Operational & Functional Leadership

  • Lead the Business Control function across the business area and staff functions.
  • Drive capital efficiency and break-even optimization initiatives.
  • Prepare Business Review Management (BRM) and executive-level presentations.
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational development initiatives.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure strong commercial risk management across credit, residual values, used trucks, and contracts.
  • Oversee internal controls, compliance, and financial governance.
  • Ensure adherence to Volvo Group authorization policies and local governance standards.

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Ensure effectiveness of financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines in Business Control.
  • Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and business performance.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across functions and regions.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and development to the Business Control team.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration and operational alignment.

Authority

  • Adherence to Volvo Group authorization policies and guidelines
  • Compliance with local financial and operational governance frameworks

Qualification & Competencies

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in: Financial planning & analysis / Accounting & treasury / Business development / Internal controls and/or credit management
  • Experience in automotive, heavy vehicles, or a related industry preferred
  • Proven senior leadership and people management experience

  • Strong business and commercial acumen, particularly in retail/commercial vehicle environments
  • Demonstrated success in strategic financial planning and analysis
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Experience working in global and multicultural environments
  • High proficiency in English (written and spoken)
