Job Description

As a Desktop Support Technician, you'll play a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance for computer systems, hardware, and software. This position is vital in ensuring the smooth operation and functionality of computer systems within an organization. You will work closely with end-users to troubleshoot and resolve any issues they may encounter, ensuring minimal disruption to their daily operations. Your expertise will be needed to maintain systems, install new hardware and software, and ensure that the technology infrastructure consistently meets the needs of the business. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of IT systems, and a customer-focused approach to providing support.


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktop and laptop hardware and software issues.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware faults.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles, configuring their desktop environment.
  • Respond to user inquiries related to software functionality and hardware operations.
  • Manage and maintain imperative data backup processes and recovery operations.
  • Assist in research and procurement of new IT equipment and software solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory and software licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to provide effective and efficient support services.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for IT processes.
  • Provide orientation and training sessions to users on new hardware and software.
  • Monitor and manage server equipment performance, ensuring optimal availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in desktop support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and MacOS operating systems and environments.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving software and hardware issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts.
  • Experience with cloud services and performing network troubleshooting tasks.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing excellent service.
