Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our employees, ensuring that their computer systems and software applications are operating effectively. Your primary focus will be diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues, installing new technology and performing upgrades, and keeping detailed records of procedures and solutions. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a patient demeanor, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to users at all levels. In this role, you'll contribute to boosting the productivity and satisfaction of our staff by ensuring a seamless and efficient IT environment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide timely technical support and assistance to computer system users.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktop computers.
  • Install, configure, and update software and drivers for optimum performance.
  • Set up and configure new employee workstations and IT equipment.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of all computer hardware and software assets.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to develop and implement IT solutions.
  • Document resolutions of support requests and update knowledge base regularly.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems are maintained.
  • Respond to queries regarding software functionality and system compatibility.
  • Assist in the training and guidance of less experienced team members.
  • Perform regular system maintenance to ensure high levels of performance.
  • Provide support for audio-visual equipment used for meetings and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in desktop support or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, software, and networks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users and team members.
  • Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software is desirable.
  • A proactive attitude with strong organization and time-management skills.
