Context

The Structural Engineer will lead the structural engineering efforts for a rail project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of structural components, ensuring compliance with international standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver a world-class rail system.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Lead and supervise a team of structural engineers and designers involved in deport and maintenance facility design
  • Develop and implement design strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
  • Oversee the structural design of depot buildings, stations, administrative facilities and service structures.
  • Ensure designs meet all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to optimize design processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs into the overall project plan.
  • Participate in regular project meetings and provide updates on design progress and challenges.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and contractors as needed
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of structural designs.
  • Conduct regular design reviews and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local, national, and international engineering standards and regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in structural engineering.
  • Manage design budgets and resources effectively to ensure project efficiency.
  • Identify and address potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related technical discipline.

Background

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on rail or transportation infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro).
  • Familiarity with railway and international engineering standards.
