Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Assistant to join our progressive dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a commitment to facilitating excellent dental experiences. As a Dental Assistant, you will work alongside our skilled dentists and hygienists, contributing to the overall efficiency and organization of the practice. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our patients, as well as maintaining a safe and sterile environment for all dental procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
  • Prepare examination and surgical rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring equipment readiness.
  • Ensure all patient dental records are up to date and accurately maintained in the system.
  • Provide patients with information on oral health care, routine dental hygiene, and post-operative care instructions.
  • Manage inventory and order dental supplies, ensuring ample stock levels for daily operations.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar efficiently.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) as per the necessary safety protocols.
  • Perform regular and thorough cleaning of dental equipment and operatory surfaces.
  • Monitor and comply with all state and federal regulations related to dental practices.
  • Assist with billing and processing patient payments, maintaining accuracy in all transactions.
  • Support the dental team by performing additional tasks and duties as needed or requested.
  • Promote a positive patient experience and handle any concerns promptly and courteously.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; diploma from a dental assistant program preferred.
  • Current certification or registration as a dental assistant as required by state law.
  • Proven experience as a dental assistant or in a related healthcare role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and team members.
  • Proficient in dental software systems and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • In-depth understanding of dental procedures, instruments, and operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
