We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our patients while providing essential support to our dental professionals. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are crucial to the daily operations of our dental practice, including preparing patients for surgery, setting up and breaking down treatment rooms, and providing direct chair-side assistance to the dentist during procedures. Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for dental procedures by ensuring their comfort and gathering necessary information.
  • Set up treatment rooms by arranging instruments, materials, and equipment for patient visits.
  • Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, and surgeries.
  • Hand instruments and supplies to the dentist during treatment, making sure everything runs smoothly.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays as needed, ensuring proper radiation safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment by sterilizing and cleaning dental instruments and equipment.
  • Provide patients with post-operative instructions, ensuring they understand their care plan.
  • Record treatment information in patient records, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient charts with efficiency and confidentiality.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices and proper care to prevent dental issues.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies, ordering new materials as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is essential for this role.
  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) designation, or a commitment to obtaining it, is required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a dental assistant role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
  • Proficiency in dental software applications for scheduling and patient records management.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment, with a commitment to continued learning.
