Job Title: Data Governance Lead

Job Location: Dubai

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy: Data Governance Lead is responsible for developing, enhancing implementing and refreshing the organizations data strategy, including defining the data architecture, standards, and policies that govern the use and management of data.
  • Develop Data Management Processes and Procedures: The Data Governance Lead is responsible for developing & supervising (working with DM teams) the operationalization of DM’s data policies, processes, procedures, and overall governance.
  • Work with Business and IT Teams: The Data Governance Lead must work closely with business, Data Governance Council and IT teams to understand their data requirements.
  • Provide Data Management Training & Awareness: The Data Governance Lead must work with DM teams to help provide training & awareness to business and IT teams to ensure that they understand Data Management policies, processes, procedures, and tools.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: The Data Governance Lead is responsible for driving continuous improvement in the organizations. This includes identifying areas for improvement, developing and implementing improvement plans, and tracking progress against established goals and objectives.
  • Data Governance Framework Development: Lead the development and implementation (activation) of a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with industry standards (DAMA, CMMi DMM, DCAM) and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Governance policies: Define data governance and data management policies as applicable.
  • Data Maturity Assessment: lead the Data Maturity Assessment activities.

Experience Required

  • Data management: A strong understanding of data management principles and best practices, including data modelling, data governance, data quality, and data integration by adopting best practices from DAMA, CMMI and NDMO.
  • Data analysis: The ability to analyses complex data sets, identify data inconsistencies and quality issues, and develop solutions to address them.
  • Business acumen: A strong understanding of business needs and requirements, as well as the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Communication and collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills, as data Specialists must work closely with business and IT teams to understand their data requirements and ensure that data solutions are aligned with their needs.
  • Continuous improvement: A commitment to continuous improvement, including the ability to identify areas for improvement, develop improvement plans, and track progress against established goals and objectives
