Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture:
- As the Data Architect lead a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Big Data Platform Design and Implementation, data architecture patterns, data standards and best practices
- Data Estate Modernisation and Architecture patterns and industry solutions (CDP/CDW, CDP/Snowflake, CDP/MIDP)
- Big Data Architect (Cloudera) hands-on experience
- Define high level and Low level design ( Architecture)
- Responsible as facilitator, coordinator with Vendors, internal teams and presentation
- Understanding of Hadoop Cluster management (CDP, CML, NIFI) and other Big Data applications within Cloudera environments.
- Design performance tuning and optimization to enhance Cloudera Big Data platform efficiency and scalability
- Evaluating new technologies, frameworks, and tools in the data engineering space to drive innovation and improve data processing capabilities.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data architecture strategy that aligns with organizational goals. Ensure that the data architecture supports scalability, security, and performance requirements for the Big Data Platform
- Experience with authoring Data Estate Modernisation RFx, vendor evaluation and selection
Data Ingestion (Data Integration):
- Data Architect must ensure that the organizations data is integrated and harmonized across different systems andplatforms, including designing and implementing data integration solutions that enable data to flow seamlessly between different applications and systems.
- Workload migration architecture and design standards from Cloudera big data to Microsoft Azure Lakehouse
- Data Integration Pipeline architecture and design
Data Engineering And Harmonization (Data Storage):
- Data Storage and Management: Data Architect must design and implement the organizations data storage and management infrastructure, including selecting appropriate storage technologies, such as databases and data warehouses, and managing the organizations data assets.
- Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in data processing and storage systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Data Lifecycle Management:
- Conduct due-diligence on workload capacity planning, sizing, backup, disaster recovery, Implement security controls and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
- Responsible for defining up Big Data Platform user roles, access and privilege management
Data Modelling:
- Data Architect must design and maintain the organizations data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models that define the structure, relationships, and attributes of the data.
- Design data modeling standards and best practices ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity Technical Design Authority: Function as the Data Architect nominee in the TDA forum, responsible to review and approve critical Data Platform and Data Management related decisions.
Ensure Compliance with Regulations: The Data Architect must ensure that the organization is in compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation related to data privacy and security. This may include Digital Dubai, DESC, and other regulations.
Drive Continuous Improvement: The Data Architect is responsible for driving continuous improvement in the organizations data management and data lake modernisation program. This includes identifying areas for improvement, developing and implementing improvement plans, and tracking progress against established goals and objectives.
Collaboration: Data Architects must work closely with other team members, such as Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts, to ensure that the organizations data architecture meets business requirements and supports datadriven decision making.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Act as the SPOC for data architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment with IT and business leaders. Communicate the vision, strategy, and progress of data architecture projects to stakeholders regularly. Gather feedback from business units to refine data architecture strategies and ensure they meet evolving needs.
Collaboration with Technical Teams: Work closely with data engineers, developers, and other IT teams to ensure that architectural designs are implemented correctly. Provide guidance on best practices in data architecture, security, and governance. Participate in technical reviews and provide recommendations for improving data architectures.
Data Governance Platforms: Understanding and knowledge of Informatica Data Governance platforms such as Axon, EDC, IDQ, Informatica Cloud platforms such as IDMC. Understanding of Informatica Master Data Management (Customer 360) technical and functional knowledge, MDM strategy and business case preparation.
Deliverables/Outcomes:
- Data Management Standards and guidelines for applicable data management domains (Data Architecture & Modeling, Data Lifecycle, Data Storage and others)
- Data governance platform modernisation technical and benefit analysis business case (IDMC modernisation)
- Support Principal Data Architect/TDA in authoring Big Data Platform Modernisation tender, proposal evaluation and selection
- Support Principal Data Architect/TDA in Big Data platform (CDP) optimization activities
- OKR champion for Data Platform improvement objectives
Skills:
- Data modelling: Data Architect must be proficient in developing and managing data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models. They should have experience in data modelling tools such as ER/Studio, ERWin, or PowerDesigner.
- Database management: Data Architect must have strong skills in database design and management, including experience with SQL and database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Cloudera.
- Data integration: Data Architect should have experience in designing and implementing data integration solutions, including ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes, data mapping, and data transformation.
- Data governance: Data Architect must have a strong understanding of data governance principles and practices, including data quality, data security, and data privacy.
- Big data technologies: Data Architect should have experience in big data technologiessuch as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
- Cloud technologies: Data Architect should have experience in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including cloud data storage and computing.
- Business acumen: Data Architect must have a strong understanding of business needs and requirements, as well as the ability to translate businessrequirementsinto technical solutions.
- Communication and collaboration: Data Architect must have strong communication and collaboration skills, as they will need to work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, data scientists, and other IT professionals.
- Certification: Certification from Informatica, Togaf, with preferred DAMA certification as Data practitioner.
