The role focuses on ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and governance through validation of business logic, exploratory data analysis, close collaboration with stakeholders, and comprehensive KPI documentation

Key Responsibilities

Strategic

• Contribute to analytical standards, reporting best practises, and data consistency and accuracy in insights delivery.
• Promote data governance, data quality definitions, documentation, and standard business metrics to ensure trusted and well‑understood data across the organization.
  
  

• Drive cost efficiency by optimizing query performance and efficient data set design
• Minimize redundancy and maintenance overhead through reusable datasets and datamarts.
  
  

• Collaborate with business to deliver high‑quality, analytics‑ready datasets and datamarts
• Incorporate user feedback and testing to improve the usability.
• Clearly communicate impacts related to any data or solution changes to relevant stakeholders.
  
  

• Design and Development:
• Design and support in developing the Business facing datasets and datamarts.
• Defining business rules, transformation logics , and validation requirements.
• Ensure datasets and datamarts are structured
• Data Analysis and processing
• Perform data profiling, exploratory analysis, and data validation.
• Perform trend analysis, anomaly detection, and root‑cause analysis to identify data issues.
• Dashboards & Reporting (Internal / Governance)
• Design, develop, and maintain internal dashboards and reports for:
• Data quality monitoring
• Data pipeline health and freshness
• Governance metrics
• Validate dashboards developed by business teams, before release/ publishing.
• Data Validation & Quality
• Define and implement data quality rules , thresholds and validation logic.
• Identify data issues and work with Data Engineer to resolve root causes.
• Data Integration support
• Support Integration involving multiple data sources, ensuring consistent joins, definitions, and business logic.
• Assist with source‑to‑target validation.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with business to provide them with the accurate datasets and datamarts.
• Guide in dashboard standards to be followed for publishing.
• Documentation:
• Maintain a Data Catalog (Excel or tool‑based).
• Ensure datasets and datamarts are standardized, documented, and discoverable.
• Work closely with the teams to maintain data dictionary , KPI definitions and business rules.
• Incident management
• Support incident investigation, validation.
• Assess impact of issues on dashboards and reports.
  

• Stay updated with modern data tools and trends.
• Collaborate effectively with team members
• Contribute to internal best practices and governance standards.
• Share knowledge and support team capability building
  
  

• Own and manage analytical and governance datasets and datamarts, ensuring accuracy and availability.
• Analyse and validate data to support reporting and data quality monitoring.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• B. Tech / B.E
  
  

• Experience in Data Analytics
• Experience in SQL experience
• Experience working with analytical datasets, reporting layers, and KPIs
• Strong experience in data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation
• Experience on data governance initiatives.
