Data Analyst

Contract Length: 12 months

Location of work: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra Melbourne or Sydney

This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst with experience in the healthcare sector to join our team at a federal government department.

Key Requirements

• Having an in-depth understanding of the aged care data landscape, data governance processes, data standards and metadata, supporting information security and privacy requirements and mapping information flows across Government systems
• Ability to work with complex data, data sources and varied data warehouses
• Experience with complex systems and systems architecture, including integration with multiple systems
• Ability to develop rules, metrics, process maps, calculations and algorithms, demonstrating a high aptitude in mathematics
• Working a range of different stakeholders including Health IT service delivery partners, and project, program and policy teams both within and outside the department
• Ability to solve complex problems to develop ICT solutions that are fit for purpose and aligned with policy and program needs
• Ability to source, interpret and prepare data from multiple systems, and develop interactive dashboards in tools such as QLIK and Power BI – including skills in data discovery, modelling, transformation, design and translating business questions into meaningful insights
  
  

About You:

Business Analysis Expertise: Proven experience in business analysis for digital projects, working in agile teams

Health Experience: Any experience in the health sector, whether public or private would be advantageous

Technical Acumen: Strong technical skills (data and API focus) with a proven ability to translate and document stakeholder and business needs into solution requirements and user stories

Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work with people across all levels of an organisation, including senior executives in a dynamic environment

Communication Skills: Demonstrated facilitation, stakeholder management skills and communication skills including strong negotiation skills

Data Expertise: Delivering data and information management activities, including establishing governance practices, data standards and metadata, supporting information security and privacy requirements and mapping information flows across systems

Power BI and QLIK experience: Ability to source, interpret and prepare data from multiple systems, and develop interactive dashboards in tools such as QLIK and Power BI – including skills in data discovery, modelling, transformation, design and translating business questions into meaningful insights
