Data Engineer – D&IT Business Solutions Manager

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in driving our data projects and ensuring the smooth integration and operation of our data platforms.

If you have a profound understanding in Microsoft Azure technologies, and possess solid experience with SQL, SSIS, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Data Lake and Power BI, we want you on our team!

The primary duties of this role include overseeing and supporting either a portion or the entire portfolio of the virtual teams applications spread across various locations. This responsibility extends to implementing and supporting solutions under the Data and Analytics capability area across the region, requiring collaboration with other team members to standardize processes, enhance productivity and drive efficiency.

The role includes proactive collaboration with business stakeholders and D&IT partners. This collaboration aims to improve existing capabilities or develop a clear understanding of new capability requirements. It involves working closely with the Team Lead to identify and integrate suitable tools into the strategic roadmap and managing the process of introducing new solutions. This position also involves leading projects to adapt and implement centralized systems at the regional or local level.

Your role will involve developing, rolling out solutions, and supporting our Markets & Regions Data services area. Under the guidance of senior data engineers and Team Leads, youll develop and maintain pipelines, ensuring third-party providers and external resources meet their commitments within budget.

What Will You Do

• Lead and manage data and analytics projects within the IT department.
• Design, implement, and maintain data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies, including SQL, ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake, Power BI and PowerApps
• Analyze data sets to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with business partners to understand their requirements and provide suitable data solutions.
• Development of relationships with customers to understand their needs and priorities, by collecting input from customers and stakeholders; identify and propose process / service / role design improvements geared towards simplification and service level enhancement
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data and analytics.
  
  

What Are We Are Looking For

College or University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 3+ years’ experience in the IT discipline with 1+ of those years in IT Management of Business Solutions/ Application teams (including people management where relevant)
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in Microsoft and Azure cloud technologies SQL, SSIS, ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake and PowerApps
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis and modeling, data flow mapping, testing and validation techniques (must)
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar
• Understanding and hands-on experience with ML and AI technologies is a big plus
• Strong understanding of budgeting and financial planning processes
• Analytical skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new/emerging technologies
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand the processes and liaise effectively with business partners.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Past exposure to Project Management and Agile methodologies
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent verbal and written English
