Summary Description

  • Lead the development, execution, and scale-up assessment of Hyundai’s hydrogen mobility initiatives across MEA, with an initial focus on KSA
  • Take ownership of hydrogen truck and bus PoC projects, covering project planning, partner coordination, on-site testing, operational support, and business-case evaluation.
  • Build the required hydrogen ecosystem by aligning Hyundai Motor Company, distributors, hydrogen suppliers, government authorities, and customers and identify strategic opportunities 
Role & Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and scale-up assessment of hydrogen mobility initiatives across MEA, with an initial focus on KSA.
  • Manage Proof of Concept projects for hydrogen buses and trucks, including scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate project initiation activities, including customer and partner engagement, project planning, internal approvals, and resource alignment.
  • Lead regular cross-functional project meetings and ensure timely follow-up on actions and progress.
  • Coordinate on-site validation, including drivability, system stability, operational readiness, and performance under local conditions with support of related R&D and Service teams.
  • Assess and address infrastructure, refueling, logistics, regulatory, and service-readiness requirements
  • Align internal stakeholders at the MEA regional office and Hyundai Headquarters in Korea, including Hydrogen Business, R&D, Service, CV, Marketing, and other relevant functions.
  • Manage relationships with local distributors, hydrogen suppliers, government authorities, customers, and strategic partners to establish the required hydrogen mobility ecosystem.
  • Identify and evaluate hydrogen business opportunities, develop business cases and partnership models, and recommend pathways from PoC to commercial or scale-up deployment.
  • Prepare project documentation, management reports, budgets, presentations, marketing materials, and support materials for executive visits, customer engagements, and industry events.
Job requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Energy Management, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in commercial vehicles, hydrogen mobility, alternative-fuel vehicles, renewable energy, automotive business development, or project management.
  • Knowledge truck and bus operations, fleet requirements, and customer needs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ecofriendly vehicles, hydrogen infrastructure, and new-energy solutions.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects from planning through implementation and reporting.
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to develop business cases, assess market opportunities, and evaluate project feasibility.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate HQ teams, distributors, customers, government bodies, energy suppliers, and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, consensus-building, and strategic-thinking abilities.
  • Clear, structured, and solution-oriented communication skills, with strong proficiency in English; Arabic and/or Korean are an advantage.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic, international environment. Flexibility to adapt to work environments
Physical requirements
  • Normal office duties in Region HQ
  • 10% travel requirements.
