Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment following manufacturer's guidelines and safety protocols.
• Inspect and clean surgical instruments to ensure they are free from contaminants.
• Sort, package, and label instruments and supplies for sterilization and clinical use.
• Monitor inventory levels of sterilization supplies and order replacements as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization procedures and equipment maintenance activities.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely processing of surgical instruments.
• Troubleshoot and report any issues with sterilization equipment or processes promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in a healthcare or sterile processing environment is beneficial.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment, and infection control standards.
• Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain various sterilization machines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
