The role of a CSSD Technician (Central Sterile Supply Department Technician) is crucial in maintaining the hygiene and safety standards within healthcare facilities. Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Inspect, assemble, and wrap medical instruments and sets following specific guidelines.
• Operate and troubleshoot steam sterilizers, washer disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners.
• Ensure strict compliance with infection control and sterile processing standards.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment performance.
• Conduct routine checks on sterilization instruments to ensure proper functioning.
• Organize and distribute sterile and non-sterile supplies to various departments.
• Collaborate with medical staff to manage sterile inventory and supply levels.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the CSSD area.
• Adhere to safety standards and proper handling of hazardous materials.
• Participate in continuous education and training sessions on new sterilization techniques.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and documentation processes in the CSSD.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education is mandatory for application.
• Certification in sterile processing or CSSD is preferred but not obligatory.
• Proven experience as a CSSD Technician or in a similar role is advantageous.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices is essential.
• Ability to operate and maintain sterilization equipment effectively is required.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are necessary.
