WE ARE LOOKING FOR TWO CRISIS MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIANS

What Youll Do

The Crisis Mental Health Technician supports the day-to-day operations of the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) by assisting with client care, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment, monitoring client behavior, and supporting interdisciplinary staff. This position plays a vital role in crisis intervention, observation, and recovery support for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric and behavioral health crises.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision to clients in the CSU in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environment for all clients and staff.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and document observations per department protocol.
  • Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, meals, and self-care.
  • Lead psychosocial groups and structured activities as directed by clinical staff.
  • De-escalate behavioral crises using trauma-informed and nonviolent intervention techniques.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client status under clinical supervision.
  • Report client concerns, symptoms, or incidents promptly to licensed staff and/or supervisor.
  • Facilitate admissions, discharges, and transitions under the direction of licensed team members.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including nursing, therapy, case management, and psychiatry.
  • Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Complete and maintain up-to-date required training for this position.
  • Perform all other reasonably related duties assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.

Requirements

Required:

  • Must be at 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Basic personal computer skills which enable the entry, retrieval and use of electronic data.
  • A valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the needs and challenges of adults and children who experience Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and Severe Emotional Disturbances.
  • General knowledge of mental health, substance use and housing systems of care
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Certified in Basic CPR, First Aid, and/or MANDT – if not, will be required to certify at the earliest opportunity.

All employees will be required to submit to and pass a background check and drug screening.

Salary Description

$18 an Hour
