Summary
Job Description:
In aviation refuelling operations safety is paramount as the activities involve working with a potentially hazardous product, in a potentially hazardous and challenging environment, in close proximity to other ramp service providers, people and multi-million-dollar aircrafts.
Crew Leader is to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Shift Supervisor, especially in times of Shift Supervisor leave cover or sick cover. However, on return and availability of a Shift Supervisor, the Crew Leader is expected to stand down and return to operational duties as a Refueling Operator under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor.
Responsibilities
To consistently demonstrate high levels of integrity, leadership and operational skills to staff and setting an example as a role model for the competencies, skills and behaviors required for this post.
To ensure that all customers’ aircraft are refueled safely, on time, efficiently and in compliance with the Air BP Regulations and Standards, the DIA Charter, and the Airport Ramp Safety rules.
To regularly perform normal operational tasks including refueling and depot operations, especially during peak hours of activity and as cover for operators on sick / holiday leave.
To continuously seek ways to improve levels of performance and efficiency while reducing costs by optimizing the use of equipment, facilities, staff, technology and training and without compromise HSE principles and practices.
To immediately respond to all emergencies and when required lead an emergency team by following the guidelines and procedures detailed in the emergency manual, including appropriately collaborating closely with other emergency authorities, until more senior management staff is present.
To be genuinely committed to all HSE regulations and consistently demonstrate real care for personal health, site safety and the environment in daily operations. To actively apply HSE practices and seek opportunities to prevent themselves, colleagues, and the environment from being harmed in any way. This HSE single-mindedness is to be applied in actions as well as by words and thus demonstrating HSE as a core value.
Permit Authority – to perform as one of Air BP’s authorized signatories capable of issuing work permits and ensuring safe workplace environment for others including 3rd parties carrying out construction, maintenance or repair works within the depot.
To actively ensure all important communications (Technical bulletins, Safety Flashes, HSES and Operations Circulars) are clearly communicated to all staff and that these communications are thoroughly understood, with particular emphasis to HSE, customers, stakeholders and operations efficiency.
To proactively contribute to maintaining excellent relationships with customers and stakeholders by demonstrating a professional attitude, maintaining good communications and deploying excellent service skills at all times.
To immediately and accurately report all customer-related incidents, including delays, so that the Airport Terminal Manager and marketing team can take proactive action as necessary.
To maintain a timely and accurate log of all customer communications (face to face, phone calls and emails) and other relevant parties.
To be one of Air BP’s authorized trainers and undertake to ensure personnel training records are accurately maintained and updated.
To actively pursue personal development in competencies, skills and behaviors, identifying skills gaps seeking solutions to fill these gaps.
To actively supervise, train and mentor staff and actively encourage their development to ensure a highly skilled, flexible, HSE Minded and well-motivated team.
To maintain good communications with Air BP marketing team and respond promptly to requests for information.
To ensure appropriate induction and work permits are completed to control visitors and 3rd Parties visiting or working on the site.
To perform relief Supervisors duties at any Air BP Aviation Terminal and if necessary take direct control of a small terminal when instructed to do so.
Provide assistance to the ATM & Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining a planned maintenance system for all plant equipment and vehicles. Lead or direct operational staff to complete planned maintenance and repair of plant and equipment, on time and in full.
Shared Accountabilities
Liaise with other Shift Supervisors to ensure effective communication between shifts of pertinent issues, and handover of cash and stocks.
Maintain staff relations and disciplinary procedures in accordance with the company Employee Relations Manual and Conditions Of Employment.
To ensure that stocks of fuel, additives, spare parts and other consumables are maintained at adequate levels to ensure business continuity.
To ensure that all quality control and routine inspection and maintenance work is carried out in accordance with procedures and accurately documented.
To ensure that all documentation and records relating to stocks, sales, quality control, periodic tests and checks are maintained up to date and organized.

The role is quick paced and demanding with regular challenges and job pressures, requiring a calm and methodical approach together with the ability to make safe and effective decisions.
The Crew Leader must possess excellent management and communication skills in order to handle all situations.
Although this particular job is carried out all over the world for Air BP, the Middle East is unique, given the extremely high temperatures (40-50 deg.C) for approximately half the year. Despite these very difficult conditions, staff must maintain the high standards set out in the Air BP Regulations, in terms of HSE, Operations, Quality and Customer Service.
Requirements
From 3 to 5 years of experience as aviation operator.
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Refueling Operator.
A minimum of 6 months experience in shadowing supervisor duties.
Bachelor degree/Equivalent in Engineering or technical field background.
Excellent communication, leadership and management skills.
Basic Accounting.
Fluent spoken English and good written English.
Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Valid local UAE driving license, heavy-duty license will be an advantage.

Very HSE minded.
