Job Description

The Credit Manager role is a pivotal position within any financial institution or organization dealing with credit operations. As a Credit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the credit granting process for customers and ensuring the company maintains optimal levels of credit risk. Your primary objective will be to safeguard the company’s capital while maximizing growth opportunities. You will manage a team of credit analysts, develop and implement credit policies, and work closely with various departments to ensure consistent credit practices throughout the organization. The ability to analyze credit data, make sound decisions, and communicate effectively with both internal teams and customers will be key to your success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the company’s credit granting process to minimize risk factors.
  • Develop and implement effective credit policies and procedures company-wide.
  • Analyze complex credit data and financial statements to determine levels of risk.
  • Manage a team of credit analysts and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to ensure alignment in credit and sales processes.
  • Approve or deny credit applications based on predefined parameters and analysis.
  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams on cash flow optimization.
  • Prepare detailed reports on credit operations and risk management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with credit regulations and safeguard the company's interests.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key clients to support business growth.
  • Monitor the credit performance of existing clients and suggest improvements.
  • Engage in continuous improvement processes for credit management systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of credit policies and financial risk analysis techniques.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in managing credit teams effectively.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data with precision.
  • Exceptional decision-making ability and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and credit management systems.
