Credit Analyst

The Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses to determine the risk involved in lending money or extending credit. This role involves financial analysis, interpreting credit data, preparing risk assessments, and supporting lending decisions. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a sound understanding of financial statements and market conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and payment history of clients.

• Assess credit data to evaluate credit risk and determine creditworthiness.

• Prepare comprehensive credit risk reports and recommendations.

• Monitor existing accounts for credit limit breaches or changes in financial health.

• Support the development of credit policies and risk mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with sales, finance, and legal teams on lending decisions.

• Conduct industry and market research to support analysis.

• Assist in setting credit terms and loan conditions.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain accurate credit files and records for audit purposes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

• 2–4 years of experience in credit analysis or financial services.

• Strong understanding of financial ratios, credit scoring, and risk assessment.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, financial modeling, and analysis tools.

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
