  • Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities
    • Primary Functions
    • Conduct inspections and verifications of E&I installations in hazardous (Ex) zones on vessels, offshore platforms, or FPSOs.
    • Ensure strict adherence to ATEX directives (94/9/EC or 2014/34/EU), IEC 60079 standards, and relevant marine classification society rules.
    • Inspect flameproof enclosures, cable glands, earthing systems, junction boxes, and other Ex-certified electrical equipment.
    • Verify the correct application of cable installation, glanding, bonding, and sealing techniques.
    • Review and validate technical documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), loop folders, and Ex equipment checklists.
    • Witness functional tests including continuity checks, insulation resistance, and loop checks to confirm explosion protection compliance.
    • Identify and report any non-conformities (NCRs) and track the implementation of corrective actions.
    • Ensure traceability of all Ex-certified equipment through certification and tagging.
    • Collaborate with marine engineers, supervisors, HSE, and QA/QC teams to uphold safety and quality standards.
    • Compile detailed inspection reports, punch lists, and final documentation for client and classification society review.

  • Strong technical skill & judgement
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing/fabrication process
  • Familiarity with the QSP’s procedure for conducting surveillance inspection

Report to Team Leader about day to day inspection

    • Encourage team working with the contractor and other customer groups to achieve set targets.
    • Strong leadership skills, planning, organizing, decision-making, control and monitoring.

    • Coordinating and managing inspections with different level of people from different parties such as Clients, Sub-contractors, Yard Departments and Regulatory Authorities.
    • To work under pressure and extreme climatic conditions to meet project requirements
    • To complete given jobs on time with highest quality and safety standards with no incident or accident.


    • HSE Requirements
Authorized to stop work if condition, situation, environment etc…is not safe to perform the activity.

Accountable to follow and implement the QHSE rules set by company
