What You’ll Do

As our Commodity Risk Analyst, you’ll support the quantitative analysis and management of risk across Genesis’ energy portfolio. You’ll work with market data, financial models and risk frameworks to assess exposure, support hedging strategies and provide insights that inform trading and commercial decisions.

This is a role with real ownership - you’ll investigate issues, challenge assumptions and work independently while engaging with stakeholders across the business to ensure risk is well understood and managed.

Some Of Your Key Responsibilities Include

• Analysing commodity risk exposure across energy portfolios
• Supporting hedging strategies through modelling and scenario analysis
• Developing and maintaining forecasting and risk models
• Investigating data anomalies, trends and emerging risk drivers
• Preparing risk reporting and performance insights
• Supporting stress testing and sensitivity analysis
• Partnering with Trading, Finance and Commercial teams
• Contributing to the uplift of risk frameworks and processes
  
  

What You’ll Bring

You’re naturally curious, analytical and enjoy digging into data to understand what’s really going on. You’re comfortable working independently, but also confident engaging stakeholders to explain your thinking and influence decisions.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Brings

• Experience in risk, analytics, finance or trading environments
• Strong numerical and analytical capability
• An investigative mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience with modelling, forecasting or scenario analysis
• Advanced Excel skills (modelling, large datasets)
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Confidence working independently and taking ownership
• Experience with Python, R, SQL or BI tools is advantageous, as is exposure to derivatives, hedging or energy markets.
