Job Description

The Commis Chef Pastry position is a fantastic opportunity for those with a passion for pastry arts and an eagerness to develop their culinary skills. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Pastry Chef with daily bakery tasks and ingredient preparation.
  • Prepare, bake, and decorate pastries and desserts according to recipes.
  • Ensure all pastry items are consistently prepared and served to the company's standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times.
  • Follow safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
  • Assist in the creation and development of new pastry recipes and menus.
  • Cooperate with kitchen staff to manage kitchen operations efficiently during service hours.
  • Participate in training sessions to improve pastry-making techniques and skills.
  • Assist in plating desserts and presenting them aesthetically to customers.
  • Prepare pastry components in advance to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
  • Receive and store food supplies while ensuring their quality and freshness.

Requirements

  • Previous experience or internship in a pastry or bakery setting is desirable.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for pastry arts and culinary creativity.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Good organization and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
