Role Overview

The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in daily food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency. This is an entry-level kitchen role ideal for passionate culinary professionals eager to learn and grow in a high-standard environment.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Service

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to recipes and standards

Support the Chef de Partie during service to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Maintain consistency, portion control, and presentation standards

Follow instructions accurately and efficiently

Kitchen Operations

Set up and organize workstations before service

Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of tools, equipment, and ingredients

Assist with basic cooking tasks under supervision

Hygiene, Safety & Compliance

Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP)

Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, work areas, and equipment at all times

Ensure proper food handling, labeling, and FIFO procedures

Learning & Development

Learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs

Participate in training sessions and daily briefings

Demonstrate willingness to improve skills and knowledge continuously

Qualifications & Experience

Culinary diploma or basic professional kitchen training preferred

Previous experience as a Commis Chef or kitchen trainee is an advantage

Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
