Responsibilities

Therolewillbebased inDubai andinclude travel(min .25%ofthecalendaryear).Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbeexpected to fulfill the responsibilities set out below within a 12-months timeframe:

Pricing & Market Analysis

• Buildand update gasoil and freight forward curves.Decompose MtM PnLinto flat price andspreads.Monitortime spreads, location differentials, and freight rate movements; flag trading opportunities to desk head.
• FFAmarketmonitoring:trackBaltic routes, FFAsettlement prices, andpapervs.physicalfreight economics
• Providemarketintelligence reportsanddecisionsupport tothedesk headon adaily/weekly basis
  
  

• Trade allocation: allocate trades across books and legal entities; reconcile positions between front-office and risk systems
• Monitorallcosts(demurrage,Q&Q,logistics)and ensure accuratereflection inthe trading P&L
• Ensureastrongcontrolframeworkbymaintainingalloperationalactivities intheRisk System
  
  

• Buildanalytical modelsindependently:pricingtools,scenarioanalysis,positionmonitors,break- evencalculators– using Excel, Python, and AI assistants as force multipliers
• Internaldataintegration:connectinternaldatasetstoproduceactionabledashboardsfordeskand management
• Actasabackupto theoperationsteam;handledocumentation& invoices; managequalityandquantityissuesfrom physical operations and other duties as requested or assigned
  
  

• Bachelor’s degreeinFinance,Economics,Mathematics,Engineering,orrelatedquantitative field
• 1–3years post-graduationexperience–ideallyinacommodity tradinghouse,bankcommoditydesk,shipping company, or brokerage with demonstrable exposure to energy or freight markets
• Financialliteracywiththeability touse AItoolstoacceleratemodelbuilding,dataanalysisandreport generation
• Possessastrongworkethicandbeabletolearnquicklyin afastpaced,high-pressure environment
• Maintaincomposureandcommunicateclearlywhen under pressure
• Ability tosucceed workingaspart of asmall,high-output team
• Advancedaptitude for problem solvingand multitasking
• Secondlanguage (French,Arabic, RussianorMandarina plus)
