Job Description

The CNC Machine Operator is a pivotal role in the manufacturing process, responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce parts and pieces from various materials. Skilled in the usage of CNC machinery, the operator ensures that components meet precise specifications, maintaining high levels of efficiency and quality. The role involves programming, setting up, and maintaining equipment as well as identifying machine malfunctions and troubleshooting them effectively. With a keen eye for detail and strong mechanical aptitude, the CNC Machine Operator plays a crucial part in the production team, collaborating with engineers and quality inspectors to ensure that parts conform to industry standards and customer requirements. This position requires a commitment to safety protocols, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering quality work.


Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts.
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine production processes.
  • Monitor the machine operations to detect any malfunctions or production issues.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines and equipment.
  • Adjust and replace tools and cutters on machines as necessary for production.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams for continuous improvement in production methods.
  • Document and report production data and machine operational status daily.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures at all times.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Train and mentor new or junior CNC machine operators as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and materials requirements.
  • Proficient in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software and CAD programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for operating machinery.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and adherence to production schedules.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary.
