Job Description

A Civil Site Engineer plays a crucial role in the planning, designing, and overseeing of construction projects. This includes a broad range of projects such as roads, bridges, water systems, and buildings. The Civil Site Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals, including architects, surveyors, and contractors. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of civil engineering techniques and principles, as well as familiarity with the latest software tools and construction technologies.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee site investigations to evaluate construction risks and recommend solutions.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor progress and performance against timelines and quality standards.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, budget, and critical issues to management.
  • Use civil engineering software for designing structures and modelling project outcomes.
  • Review and approve technical drawings and calculations from contractors and consultants.
  • Resolve any unforeseen problems that may arise during construction activities.
  • Assist in the development of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are operated and maintained safely and effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil site engineering or similar roles.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and other engineering software tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
