The purpose of this document is to describe the position of Civil Maintenance Lead in the Keolis MHI organization. The missions and activities described below are not exhaustive and may evolve to better suit the needs of Keolis MHI.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and give guidance to a number of Civil teams and subcontractors to carry out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications in building structures of stations, depots, system ancillary buildings, sub stations, cutting embankments and walls, tunnels, car parks, signage and related ground level infrastructure;
Plan and allocate resources to all aspects of maintenance activities on a day-to-day basis;
Carry out maintenance activities out in field on safety critical problem of building and structure where required;
Follow the appropriate procedures and work instructions of maintenance to ensure compliance with the requirements;
Assist subordinates with the job familiarization and to provide training and assessment where required;
Assist Civil Manager in maintenance planning and program building structure maintenance works;
Carry out 24-hour on-call responsibility for incidents and emergency within its section;
Assist the Civil Manager or other technical support staff to implement complex systems or new projects;
Conduct performance review, disciplinary and grievance for Civil Team Leaders;
Conduct disciplinary and grievance for Civil Team Leaders and Civil Technicians;
Perform shift and emergency duties when required;
Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty;
Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Civil Manager.
General Safety Accountabilities
Accepting responsibility to act in a safe manner at all times and to work within the safety systems developed for their workplace. In particular correctly wearing PPE as per company standards and implement all protection arrangements as stipulated.
Ensure to perform the duties only for which they are trained and certified.
Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves and ensure others are not affected by their acts or omissions.
Ensuring a positive attitude to environmental & sustainability initiatives & minimise negative environmental impacts
Complying with the requirements of Keolis-MHI QHSE Policies, Safety Management Systems & any specific improvement initiatives
Reporting any safety occurrences or incidents to their supervisor or manager in a timely manner.
Render all possible help in case of emergency situations in accordance with applicable documents.
Ensure Assets under area of responsibility are maintained and used with high emphasis on health & safety.
Compliance to all safety information/boards / equipment and to protect them from damage by public, passengers or contractors.
Ensuring that any damage to safety information/boards/equipment is corrected and/or reported immediately for corrective measures.
Maintaining a proactive behaviour towards maintaining work related knowledge and competencies.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Working knowledge of the strength of reinforced concrete, structural masonry and structural steel inspections, foundation testing, and corrosion studies;
KEY SKILLS
Thorough understanding of the use, calibration and care of various electronic test equipment and ability to interpret instructions in a variety of written, verbal, pictorial forms in order to carry out the maintenance activities as required;
Ability to compile technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required;
Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
Experience in operating mobile boom, scaffolding and etc;
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities;
Holder of a valid UAE driving license with a good driving skill and experience.
Experience
Preferably with minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in the maintenance of buildings and structures activities, such as building maintenance works implementation and review;
Preferably with 3 years of supervisory and management experience in supervising a team of Building & Structure Inspectors to carry out the building and structural inspection activities and / or with minimum of 2 years working experience as Building & Structure Maintenance Team Leader to carry out maintenance activities;
Experience in supervising outsourced building structure maintenance subcontractors.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
Higher diploma in civil engineering discipline or equivalent;
