The role of a Civil Inspector 17D25 is essential in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of construction projects with local codes, standards, and specifications. As a Civil Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting various civil projects, ranging from infrastructure development to commercial construction, to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of civil construction sites to ensure project specifications compliance.
  • Review and interpret technical blueprints, plans, and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors regarding inspection findings.
  • Identify and report any potential safety hazards or regulatory violations on the project site.
  • Verify that construction materials and equipment conform to quality standards and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation for project records and audits.
  • Monitor construction progress and suggest improvements for efficiency and safety measures.
  • Ensure timely communication of inspection outcomes to relevant stakeholders and management teams.
  • Assist in resolving related technical issues by providing expert recommendations and solutions.
  • Remain updated on local and national building codes and construction regulations for consistent compliance.
  • Liaise with government officials for permits and maintain all necessary project approvals and certificates.
  • Ensure on-site environmental protection measures are implemented and adhered to effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in civil inspection or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy in evaluations.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documents and engineering schematics effectively.
  • Outstanding communication skills for interaction with various project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in utilizing construction management software and related tools.
  • Certification as a Construction Inspector or related accreditation is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to act decisively under pressure.
