In the role of Civil Engineer, well count on you to:

  • Designing and assisting in project delivery, understanding scope of works, technical requirements, cost plans and agreed deliverables ie drawings, reports, specifications and calculations for all projects with your Line Manager inclusive of site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities
  • Sound understanding of highway design, grading and paving, drainage, other below ground utilities, building elements, structure and foundation options, external works and ground improvement methods.
  • Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard. Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings as directed where required. Maintain regular ‘in house’ design reviews and checks.
  • Produce feasibility design options and reports to support projects as required.
  • Ensure that design has considered sustainable, cost effective and safe designs, drawings and specifications including all checking processes and for all RIBA stages.
  • Ensure that all calculations are prepared and signed off in accordance with the requirements and relevant standards, and codes of practice.
  • Assist within inputs to the designer’s risk assessments as required under the CDM regulations at the appropriate stages.
  • Implement and assist in managing QA systems and procedures on all projects.
  • Carry out site visit / out of office risk assessment.
  • Liaise with the design team, main contractors, and sub-contracts. Attend progress meetings, design team and co-ordination meetings.
  • Maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Liaise with Statutory Authorities to obtain existing information and the necessary discharge permissions, requirements, and connection approvals.
  • Assist in responding to tender and construction queries from contractor and team and respond to requests for information/advice/approval from internal and external clients.Keep up to date with legislation and other design codes and practices.
  • Plan, organize and supervise work of engineers and technicians as needed
  • Accurately complete timesheets, assist with invoices and other reporting

requirements and submit in accordance with reporting formats and deadlines.

Maintain personal CPD and personal development plans.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BEng in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects
  • Preferably registered as a Practicing Engineer with the Abu Dhabi Municipality
  • Experience with Civil3D, Revit, Navisworks, Infoworks and other civil engineering software as appropriate and use of appropriate project and design analysis software.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Project Engineering and Project Management experience
