Job Description

Civil engineers are essential to the development and maintenance of our modern society’s infrastructure. As a Civil Engineer 17F26, you will play a crucial role in designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, and other public works. You will be responsible for ensuring that these projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with relevant regulations and standards. In this role, you will collaborate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to develop plans that meet the needs of both the public and the environment. This position requires innovative thinking, an eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within budget constraints.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and design infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site investigations to assess suitability for project requirements and development possibilities.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed project designs and blueprints.
  • Coordinate with architects, project managers, and stakeholders to define project objectives and timelines.
  • Evaluate potential environmental impacts associated with construction activities and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee and monitor construction work to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Prepare and present project reports, feasibility studies, and technical documentation for stakeholder review.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective project completion.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate project risks and avoid delays.
  • Stay informed of the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation in infrastructure development.
  • Ensure that project deliverables align with client expectations and legal requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred for this position.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering project management roles.
  • Strong proficiency in using CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role.
  • Exceptional communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with environmental assessments and sustainability practices in civil engineering.
