Chiller Technician

Chiller Technicians are essential professionals responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial and commercial chillers. These technicians ensure the efficient operation of chilling systems that are critical in various settings, including factories, hospitals, and commercial buildings. A strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigerants, and mechanical components is crucial for success in this role. Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial and commercial chiller systems efficiently.
• Diagnose complex issues and recommend effective solutions for chiller malfunctions.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure chillers operate efficiently.
• Monitor system performance and adjust settings to optimize energy usage.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and refrigeration regulations at all times.
• Inspect electrical and mechanical components for wear and repair as needed.
• Prepare detailed service reports to document inspections and service activities.
• Provide technical support and end-user training to clients when necessary.
• Collaborate with other service technicians to troubleshoot large systems.
• Keep updated with latest advancements in refrigeration technology and standards.
• Advise clients on potential system upgrades or improvements for efficiency.
• Maintain accurate inventory of parts and tools for chiller repairs and services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical training preferred.
• Minimum of three years experience in HVAC or refrigeration field.
• Strong understanding of industrial/commercial chiller systems is necessary.
• Hold a current EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification for compliance.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and manuals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and capability to make prompt decisions.
